These dogs have a double coat that comes in black, wheaten, or brindle of any color and needs regular brushing, especially during the shedding season. As these animals are rather sensitive, they should be trained firm and gentle.

Originally, Scotties were bred as hunters of foxes and badgers in Scotland. Nowadays, the breed is rather popular among dog owners. Animals of this breed are rather loyal, tolerant and sensitive; they are one-master dogs. Scotties prefer cool climates and don’t stand hot ones. A puppy may be friends with older dogs at rescues.
