The breed developed in Scotland in 1700. The development of the dog with the size and the shape we know today dates from 1890. The breed was first called the Aberdeen Terrier. Scottish Terriers were great hunters and even now they have retained their hunting instincts. The pet classifieds open up lots of puppies to the public; a rescue performs a similar function.
